Tracks & Signs Book... a delay

Sorry to say that the publication of my POCKET GUIDE TO TRACKS & SIGNS is delayed. Due to a take-over at the publisher, things have slipped, and it seems that this title will now be out next spring. All beyond my control, as they say. Anyway, here is a new version of the cover (this may change again, too) to further whet your appetite. Gerard Gorman.

Nest-box predated

Who or what did this ? This nest-box housed a Great Tit nest, but something has pulled the bedding out through the entrance hole. No beak marks to indicate a woodpecker, no claw or tooth marks to betray a mammal. Not all signs are easy to read.

Brown Rat Droppings

The droppings of Brown Rat Rattus norvegicus. Typically 1-2cm in length and often pointed at one end. They are usually placed in a pile in a corner, by a wall, or alongside something, in this case a mat. These are fresh, as they are moist. Taken in on apartment balcony in Budapest, Hungary, by Gerard Gorman.
