Hedgehog droppings











Hedgehogs produce dark, cylindrical faeces of 2-5cm long. They are usually shiny and brittle due to containing chitin fragments from insect exoskeletons, but are sloppy when earthworms have been the main food. Photo of droppings of Eastern Hedgehog Erinaceus concolor by Gerard Gorman.
